Getting Here

Pail End is easy to find - straight there - pull into the drive - park - walk in. Sorted. But not if you rely purely on the postcode (many people do not understand it's not that easy in rural areas).

The postcode - DE4 4HL - will get you to the uphill end of the village, but not to Pail End. So, the what3words for your parking space is universally.illogical.princely

But if you prefer the old-school method:

Pail End (and Well House), West End, Brassington, Matlock DE4 4HL.

From the main North/South road:

• From the south: drive up the hill along Town Street and turn left onto Miners Hill. Continue up the hill and the road curves left (past the Miners Arms on the left).
• From the north: drive down the hill (Dale End), turn right into Maddock Lake. Follow Maddock Lake to the end and you will see The Miner’s Arms pub in front of you - turn right onto Church Lane.

Then:

• Go past the churchyard on your right and, a bit futher along, The Gate Inn on your left and the road then becomes West End.
• With open fields on your left, you will see a “Road narrows” sign.
